Any 4x16gb 3200MT kits that will run on a MSI B450 with a 2700X?

It seems as though this is a very difficult combo to track down. I've seen some 2x16gb kits from Crucial that I guess I could buy two of, but is there anything out-of-the-box that is good? AMD says a Ryzen 2700X will support 64gb of ram, so do many memory manufacturers, but I see nothing that fits these specifications.

My Current Setup:

AMD Ryzen 5900X

Kingston HyperX Fury 3200mhz 2x16GB

MSI B450 Gaming Plus

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo

EVGA RTX 3060 Ti XC

Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB

WD 5400RPM 2TB

EVGA G3 750W

Corsair Carbide 300R

Arctic Fans 140mm x4 120mm x 1

Do you NEED to run all 4x sticks at DDR4-3200?

Zen+ CPU, and a B450 motherboard ....that many sticks operating at 3000+ MHz may be difficult.

The Integrated Memory Controller (IMC) on Ryzen 1000-series and 2000-series wasn't very robust, to achieve high DRAM frequency is not easy.

This is compared to vs 3000 and 5000 series.

On top of that, you are trying to load up all 4x memory slots.

Just get a 2x16gb, might be a little easier to find and run.

CPU: Ryzen 5800X3D | Motherboard: Gigabyte B550 Elite V2 | RAM: G.Skill Aegis 2x16gb 3200 @3600mhz | PSU: EVGA SuperNova 750 G3 | Monitor: LG 27GL850-B , Samsung C27HG70 |
GPU: Red Devil RX 7900XT | Sound: Odac + Fiio E09K | Case: Fractal Design R6 TG Blackout |Storage: MP510 960gb and 860 Evo 500gb | Cooling: CPU: Noctua NH-D15 with one fan

FS in Denmark/EU:

Asus Dual GTX 1060 3GB. Used maximum 4 months total. Looks like new. Card never opened. Give me a price.

I'm not sure I can run higher than 32GB of ram with only two sticks. I currently run 2x8GB at 3200MT no issues, just set XMP when I built it a few years ago and it works 100%. I would really like more than 32GB, unless AMD just lied about the capability of these chips, they say it would support 64GB.

The capacity (i.e. 64GB) is not the problem -- the Ryzen 2700X, and the motherboard will support it.

You can just get 2x, 2 x 16GB kits...matching specs ideally.

The problem is running 4x sticks at high frequency.

You may be able to run 2x 8GB @ 3200MHz, but you may / may not be able to run 4 x 8GB, or 4 x 16GB @ 3200 MHz.

Instead, you may only be able to do 3000 MHz, 2933 MHz, or something slightly below that.

More memory sticks puts more load / stress on the IMC, that as a result, can lower the memory frequency you can achieve.

Hmm, well that sucks. I also just went through the QVL and basically nothing even remotely close to what I'm looking for is even in production anymore, so I guess I'll probably just leave what I have in there. 32GB would be an improvement for down the road but apparently this platform kinda sucks, if you cannot get compatible memory for it with decent specs at a higher capacity.

Having 4 sticks at 3200 on a Zen+ is quite hard, the CPU would have to be a good sample and you'd need a great motherboard. Even 2933 or 3000 isn't easy (while using Ryzen DRAM calculator!).

For what would you need 64GB on a Ryzen 2700X?

You don't *need* to go by the QVL.

That list is also what MSi has tested in THEIR labs.

Plus, memory manufacturers have discontinued some models to replace them with RGB variants, even though the memory spec if the same.

At 2933 / 3000 / 3200 MHz, I would look at memory kits with CL14 or CL16 timings.

CL 18 is a bit loose, even for 3600 MHz.

I don't at this moment, but I've had 2x8gb kits in every machine I've built for years, wanted to make a significant jump since I planned on keeping this machine a while.

Crucial sells a 2x16GB 3200MT kit with CL16 timing, maybe that could be tweaked a little. Not exactly what I wanted but better than what I have, I will likely just pony-up for an HEDT platform next time and avoid some of these limitations.

Just get a 2x16gb, might be a little easier to find and run.

Unfortunately, even manufacturers will not verify if a 2x16gb kit will function at 3200MT, they won’t even tell me if their own sticks are dual or single rank. Basically, finding a worthwhile memory upgrade larger than what I have is impossible without just ordering them until one works, which a high-end system builder might have the time and money for, but I don’t.

DDR4 memory JEDEC standard spec is DDR4-2133.

Anything above that is considered outside of standard spec, and/or considered overclocking.

If the kit is rated for DDR4-3200, or whatever, the memory kit is tested / validated for that frequency.

However, whether or not it works with your CPU and/or motherboard combination, your mileage may vary.

If you don't care for fancy heatspreaders...

I appreciate the effort on your part. I was able to purchase a kit of Kingston 2x16gb 3200MT that was both still in production and on the QVL for my particular board, and validated to run at 3200mhz in 2x16gb configuration.

it took checking a bunch of ram model numbers, but paid off.

My Current Setup:

AMD Ryzen 5900X

Kingston HyperX Fury 3200mhz 2x16GB

MSI B450 Gaming Plus

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo

Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB

WD 5400RPM 2TB

EVGA G3 750W

Corsair Carbide 300R
