It's Christmas eve! The day all the good boys and girls in Sweden open their presents because we apparently can't wait until Christmas day.
This is what my friend got me for Christmas this year. I have to say, he is pretty great at picking gifts.

Ive got to that age where i just need socks for christmas but Santa is getting me a low tier waifu dakimakura instead.

I stopped wanting socks ever since I got 20 pairs that are left unused, due to their quality: they start getting holes in them after a few weeks of use. The only socks I own that don't yet have any holes in them even after over a year of use, are 2 pairs of military surplus socks that were 6€ per pair.

 

Guess just goes to show that you pay for quality...

I buy mine from AmiAmi (tips: "for sale in Japan only" doesn't matter).

Whatever you do, don't buy from things like eBay. You're very likely to get a bootleg which are horrible quality.

 

I recommend reading the BuyFag guide. It got lots of info about stores and what to think about when ordering.

I realisation just hit me with a lot of romance manga that many don't address...I want take a bath with my love interest but I don't want to expose myself.

Kanokon already addressed this by The make protagonist having a condition that they both wear basic swimware(bikinis and small trunks/budgie smugglers)

Very few manga/anime use this method despite it being a sensible option if you want to be close but not fully exposed while bathing...

Even your average moral parents nowadays might approve that with longer term couple as long as rules applied...

I get the feeling I should watch Shinsekai Yori but I already looked some spoilers on MAL...

GOT REALLY CONFUSED :D

Yeah, I've yet to watch it through, but apparently it's an intentionally twisted show that doesn't really hold your hand, but rather tries to make you think a bit.

 

People just seem to really want acceptance of others, and thus molding their "opinion" to be fitting with others, disregarding their real opinion in the process.

Really wish people were more brutally honest and not sugarcoat everything. I request bold facts, they give lies. I give blunt facts, they can't take it and request me to not be so rude.

People...

But yeah, people do often value social validation over their own entertainment (or betterment as people). Yet it's a bit dichotomous that they would continue to do that after jumping ship from the mainstream entertainment in their region to anime, especially once they're past their early-to-mid teens when those pressures are usually at their strongest.

 

I more mean most hipsters wouldn't recommend anything main stream, but it's main steam for a reason. It acts as a good "catch most" kinda net for new comers. Until you can figure out where there tastes line up throwing out something like vampire princess miyu seems like a shot in the dark. Throwing out something like fmab would have a higher chance of success

Whoa there, I wasn't even meaning to imply that *you* were doing any of those things, just that I've seen people tend to be just as bad as the hipsters in the other way :)

Just be honest about your recommendations, and don't limit yourself to mainstream or niche, and you'll be fine (unless specifically asked, of course).

Basically if you don't know what a person's tastes are, it's safe to ask, or just provide a bunch of semi-random picks, both mainstream and niche - I do it all the time, and the success rate is just as good. People will make their own choice in that case.

I notice some of them aren't pictured with stands. I'm wrong in assuming something like this is just as shown. right?

It has a stand. You can see a little piece holding on to her boot in the first picture if you look carefully. It's black on a black background so it is a bit hard to see, but they come with stands. Also, the stand is usually the last thing to be designed so sometimes they are pictured with the incorrect one. For example this one shows a very simple, transparent base while the figure actually came with the pink, hexagonal one you can see in this picture.

In the article I linked, it states that Microsoft is giving out a Product Key you can put in to upgrade Windows 7 & 8 to Windows 10 without having to use the upgrade process that has been used up to this point. 

 

??? Are you talking about how you can just use you win 7 or 8 product key to activate 10? If so that came with the new build.
