Two days ago, Grape-kun, the penguin who fell in love with a cardboard cutout of Hululu from the show Kemono Friends, died.

 

 

 

Some backstory:

Grape-kun was a 21 Humboldt penguin at the Tobu Zoo. He had fairly recently been dumped by his partner (which is very rare for penguins since they tend to keep the same partner their entire life).

 

Luckily for Grape-kun, in order to promote Kemono Friends (an anime about anthropomorphic animals) cardboard cutouts of characters from the show were placed in different areas of the zoo. In the Humboldt penguin pen, a cutout of the character Hululu was placed.

 

Grape-kun legitimately fell in love with the cutout and spent an unhealthy amount of time just looking at the cutout. At one point the staff even had to separate the two because Grape-kun forgot to eat. He was too busy looking at Hululu.

 

Once the promotion was over the cardboard cutouts were removed. Once the staff tried to removed the cutout Grape-kun became devastated and the staff decided to let Grape-kun keep his waifu.

The staff did however need to briefly remove the cutout during a typhoon, and at the time Grape-kun was visibly distressed.

The voice actress of Hululu actually visited Grape-kun on one or more occasions.

 

A few days ago, Grape-kun got ill and had to get medical attention. The staff brought the cutout with him to the veterinarian staff, where he later died.

RIP Grape-kun, hopes he finds Hululu up there.

 

Nothing special this season for me. Blend S is better than expected, gonna try to continue Kekkai sensen s2 and my friend is hyping Dies Irae but I haven't got the time to watch it.

I am to busy with danganronpa v3 (everyone I like dies, hate this game) and after that I'll continue exploring Ys 8 island.

 

i went to see No Game No Life zero at the cinema. It was good, my body wasn't ready for the feels and the drama though. I thought it would be silly like s1.

 

2018 looks meh, only looking forward for Violet Evergarden.

Oh yes, true. I forgot about that one. We need some Albedo yandere naw. S1 was pretty good, I've watch it during summer. There's also kabaneri s2 but still TBA.
