Getting Programs from Windows.old folder.

Does anybody know how to retrieve all old games and programs from my windows.old folder? I had to reinstall and was wondering if I can open the apps and programs from the folder or if I have to completely reinstall them.

You can keep windows.old if you plan to revert the upgrade, but in general no, you don't need it and can delete it.

All programs need to be reinstalled.

The old windows folder is there so you can save files from the old install but programs are no good anymore. Documents, pictures and such can be moved to new install then delete the old windows folder.

You can fetch some configuration files from Windows.old. But for the most software, only way is to reinstall. For games, you can install the platform and point it to location of the game files.
