Need Recommendations for a "small" (<= 24") monitor

Go to solution Solved by mariushm,

You should consider buying a monitor with VESA stand support so you could use a custom stand to hold the monitor a few inches above the desk (no center leg to occupy your desk) or to mount the monitor directly to the wall.

If this is not an option, maybe check out slightly curved monitors, which could have wider panel while using same horizontal width as smaller panels.

I doubt you're gonna find anything really good at 20" as most good panels will be aimed at 23.5" - 27" range.

Have a look at these two monitors:

SAMSUNG T350 Series LF22T350 22" Full HD 1920 x 1080 75Hz D-Sub, HDMI FreeSync IPS Monitor - Newegg.com

LG 22MN430M-B 21.5" 1920 x 1080 75 Hz D-Sub, HDMI FreeSync (AMD Adaptive Sync) Monitor - Newegg.com

You have the physical dimensions in the description. For example, Samsung's width is 19.24" , the LG is 20.1" wide... but Samsung one will need 9.13" of depth if you use the supplied stand, while the LG needs only 7.20"

Both have VESA mount support should you decide to use it.

The Samsung has thinner bezels and the connectors are pointing down so you could mount it easier flat to the wall. But the stand is somewhat horrible, taking lots of desk space. It's like they're hoping you'd use a stand.

The LG has thicker bezels and the video connectors are right on the thickest part of the back so you'd either have to use right angle hdmi connectors or leave a few cm in the back for the cables... but it has very small stand (which I think would kinda suck because monitor may wobble while you're tying or gaming because the stand is so small)

Example of a monitor arm you could attache to the edge of the desk (compatible with the two monitors suggested above) MSI MAG MT81-XX Monitor Arm - Newegg.com

Hi friends, not sure if this is the exact place to post this but I need recommendations on a small monitor for gaming. I'm a college student and my dorm's desk is not very big, so I can't have an enormous monitor. Currently, I have a 17" 1600x900 VGA monitor I inherited, and I'm looking for an upgrade. I don't need something crazy spec wise, and brand or RGB doesn't matter to me. Something around the 20" 1080p 60-120hz mark would be ideal!

The AOC 24G2 is the best budget gaming monitor. It's a 24" 1080p 144Hz IPS monitor that is an all around good performer. Currently selling for around $210.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.
