Home Theater Surround Sound

Hello, I'm making a home theater in my basement and want a surround sound system. My budget for speakers and a receiver is around $2500. I was looking at a Klipsch setup but have no idea which one as there are dozens of different configurations and I'm not 100% sure the exact real world difference of each. Thanks

As it has 8 connections but it looks like I'll need 10 with a 7.1.2 setup unless you use the same output and just split it? This is were my understanding of surround sound starts to drops off

I run this: Denon AVR-X1600H, but its only enough for 5.2.2. If you want to do 7.1.2, you will need 9 channels and that is costly....  I paid 540 for mine when I got it, I assume there is likely a new version of it now which supersedes what I have.

I run 5.2.2 and the height channels are almost a bigger deal than the surround, its adds such a better level of immersion. Also, a receiver that has DTS-X will also have Neural-X, which takes normal 5.1 and pushes some of the audio to the height channels and does a shockingly good job of it.

i agree i love my denon avr x3700h. but im running it at 7.1,4 with the fronts on a separate amp. and its amazing. even upscales 5,1 to atmos. stereo to 5.1. but the cost. 1600. 9.1s arnt cheap. hense why i said once you go 9.1 or bigger it gets costly......but worth it

Accessories4Less has a few Manufacturer Refurbished 9.2 receivers for around $1200 USD.(normally $1500 or higher, although I was able to get mine for 999 so maybe keep looking?) 

If you want 7.1.2  (5.1.4 may be better if you don't have sufficient space behind your seating) you will need a 9 channel receiver.

SO if your budget is locked to the receiver and speakers you posted then the first option: (R-620F 7.1) is your only choice.

Personally... (only because all my snob friends say don't get Klipsch unless its reference premier or better)

I'd see if your budget can afford their Reference Premier line... even if that means only getting 2 MUCH Better speakers and a MUCH better Sub.
2.1 so not SURROUND sound, but a much better starting point you can add to down the road (later get a center channel, 2 side surrounds, and then heights or back surrounds)

Also it takes the strain off your more budget receiver as it only has to power 2 speakers (which is what the power rating is for BTW)

I'd also suggest changing your receiver to Denon or Marantz, or maybe Yamaha. Its very easy to understand for performance for that kind of budget that punches above most of its weight class IMO. 

My suggestion for a $2500-$3000 budget. (Your 7.1.2 + avr combo would have taken you to just under $3k)
