SSD and another 8gb of ram before doing a whole platform upgrade. Your next step beyond FM2+ will be moving to a more current processor and DDR4/5

i mean if he has the budget going for a new platform right now would be smart, that cpu has 2 cores, the worst of the newer ones have double.

Make sure to use the quote button so we can see your responses.

Easy platform upgrade might be a Ryzen 5 1600 with a cheap B450 motherboard. I don't recommend getting 10th gen Intel and you should save your money with an older Ryzen until you can get a really strong CPU. A B450 motherboard with a nice large heat sink on it would do well with a Ryzen 8 core, and most could handle a 12 core, so you could look at something like a 5900X in the future.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I need?
