low cpu and gpu usage !

THE SPECS
ryzen 7 3700x
Msi rtx 3070 ventus 2x oc
corsair 16gb x 1 3200mhz (xmp enabled)
240gb ssd
2tb hdd

Here are the benchmarks
https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/48681247

So what happens is that in games BOTH cpu and gpu usage are low
never crosses 50%
in valo
cpu - 20 to 30%
gpu 10 20 %

All those number and graphs from your link shows that all hardware is working at or above expected capabilities.

My guess its temperature related.

On another note, i would HIGHLY recommend changing your RAM for a 2 stick setup.

You are now unable to use dual-channel mode, with can increase efficiency of RAM tremendously!

When i ask for more specs, don't expect me to know the answer!

UserBenchmark is meaningless. You're bottlenecked somewhat by slowish RAM running single channel.

You don't specifically say, but are you getting poor performance in your game, or are you simply concerned about your utilization?

I’ve never seen a machine built like this before. Really expensive components and then 1x16gb stick. I have seen single stick systems, but they’re usually ultrabudget low end things where the user simply can’t afford a second stick of memory.  There might or might not be other issues here, but I’ve never seen an amphere card with a single stick of memory ever. It’s just so odd.  Needs to have dual channel memory put in and be retested before an opinion can even be given.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

@Chris Pratt @Kid.Lazer @Bombastinator Ok thank you guyz
i knew that this was the problem
will buying the same ram of 16gb do the trick?

Maybe.  The problem is especially recently manufacturers have been switching up chips used in a stick of ram without changing the name and relying on the heat spreader to hide the truth.  It’s a big enough deal some people won’t buy memory that has a heat spreader on it.   This is sometimes a problem sometimes not.  Getting a kit generally assures one of having identical ram, but if you buy a stick of the same make and model with the same CAS on all four numbers, your chances are I understand pretty decent.  AMD tends to be more memory sensitive than Intel as a rule. For best results probably selling the 16gb and buying a kit on the QVL gives one the best possible shot.  You can probably get away with not doing that and just buying a second 16gb stick with the same make/model/Cas, or perhaps even just cas, thought that might be pushing it.
