Install Pop!_OS 20.04 LTS without losing data

Go to solution Solved by Master Disaster,

What you want is impossible. You cannot do a non destructive install from Windows to Linux for a multitude of reasons but mostly because Windows uses NTFS and Linux uses EXT4 meaning you have to format the entire drive, its unavoidable.

How do I install Pop!_OS 20.04 LTS without losing any data whatsoever?

I have a Windows OS and wanting to install Pop OS. I have my Windows Partition on a HardDisk which is partitioned and has some files, I don't have any media to store those files in as a backup, so what should I do?

How much data is there? If its less than 5GB you can use Google Drive or Onedrive to save it while you do the install.

Linux can use a number of filesystem, EXT4 is among them. You can even use FAT, but perhaps not really for the root partition.

Second: one can resize NTFS parition without losing data, and install Linux on the freed up space.

Third: does OP really want to use Linux? What for?
