3080(16GB) laptop for 2300€ what's the catch?

Arksun

I want a laptop because I cannot have a desktop due to work, I'm gaming a lot and I want max specs to a reasonable price.

I was searching for a 3080 laptop for a few months now trying to get the best deal I can to my budget and found this one:

15,6" Matte Full HD 240Hz (1920x1080)

Intel Core i7 Octa Core (8) 11800H 2.3GHz (4.6GHz) 24MB Cache

16GB G.Skill Ripjaws 3200MHz (1 x 16GB)

500GB SAMSUNG 980

Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 16GB GDDR6

GN20-E7 90W + 15W boost

Is it worth 2300€?

Found it on skikk eu.

Most laptops I found were priced 2500+ for 3080(8GB)

Any input would help,

Thanks!

Would you mind trading down some performance for roughly 85-90% of the performance of a 3080? Because you can score a 6800M for far cheaper and it performs like a charm

Primary Laptop (Gearsy MK4): Ryzen 9 5900HX, Radeon RX 6800M, Radeon Vega 8 Mobile, 24 GB DDR4 2400 Mhz, 512 GB SSD+1TB SSD, 15.6 in 300 Hz IPS display

2021 Asus ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition

Secondary Laptop (Uni MK2): Ryzen 7 5800HS, Nvidia GTX 1650, Radeon Vega 8 Mobile, 16 GB DDR4 3200 Mhz, 512 GB SSD

2021 Asus ROG Zephyrus G14

Meme Machine (Uni MK1): Shintel Core i5 7200U, Nvidia GT 940MX, 24 GB DDR4 2133 Mhz, 256 GB SSD+500GB HDD, 15.6 in TN Display

2016 Acer Aspire E5 575

Retired Laptop (Gearsy MK2): Ryzen 5 2500U, Radeon Vega 8 Mobile, 12 GB 2400 Mhz DDR4, 256 GB NVME SSD, 15.6" 1080p IPS Touchscreen

2017 HP Envy X360 15z (Ryzen)

PC (Gearsy): A6 3650, HD 6530D , 8 GB 1600 Mhz Kingston DDR3, Some Random Mobo Lol, EVGA 450W BT PSU, Stock Cooler, 128 GB Kingston SSD, 1 TB WD Blue 7200 RPM

HP P7 1234 (Yes It's Actually Called That)  RIP

Also im happy to answer any Ryzen Mobile questions if anyone is interested!

If that first Laptop really has a RTX 3080 with only 105 Watt, then stay away from that garbage. Way too expensive for that.

It probably won't be much faster than even a RTX 3060, that is able to draw up to 130 Watt.

If you pay 2300€, and it's a RTX 3080 included in a pure Gaming Laptop, it should be able to draw 165 Watt.

Take a look into the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro (RTX 3070), it WILL be faster than this one. Or Legion 7 with RTX 3080.

Both also feature a much better Display.
