Is a 1660 Still worth it?

I a lot games but most aren't super heavy besides a select few like destiny2 and The Forest I do some recording on a few games which seems to be fine if I record at 720p My main issue is that I 3D model and just trying higher poly modeling takes forever to render I also plan on playing some heavier games so Is it worth it for me to save up for a 1660 or go straight to a 2080 (I have a psu that can handle these cards) Thanks for the help 😄

It really depends on the price, don't you think?  Worth it implies a cost association.  What can you buy either for?

Whether or not it would be worth it depends on the price as well as what you can afford. If you can get one cheap (I got my 1660 Ti for $75 back in September, for example) then it's probably worth it. If you'd be paying close to market value for it then it probably wouldn't be worth it.

1500? What currency is that? Where do you live?

 

If it's USD in the states, skip buying a GPU (because you won't be able to buy one at MSRP easily) and just use your $1500 for this instead:

It was in a bin at a flea market. The man I bought it from had purchased several Dell gaming desktops, but they didn't need powerful GPUs in them, so he pulled them to sell them. He knew they were worth a whole lot more, but he didn't want to take advantage of people, so he just sold them cheap. 

 

That's just one example of a way you can find good deals when the market is difficult.
