What did you pay for your RTX 30X0?

TheeShadowStorm

This is just for my own curiosity. Not for any other reason. You can copy and paste the headings and add your own answers. I'll start

Which GPU:

3070Ti (MSI Ventus 3x)

Price paid:

£799+p&p

Where from (no need to name actual place or person), new or used and when:

New from a major UK online retailer, September 2021

Reason:

I wanted a 3070 or better and this was one of 2 choices they had in stock at 799 one was a 3070 and one was this Ti.

Went for Ti for the GDDR6X.

Glad or sad about it:

Glad. That price doesn't seem bad now and retailer stock is non existent. Some people say this is "the worst 3070Ti" but it's pretty damn good in my opinion. Reliable, quiet and excellent performance. If they were all available at msrp I probably would have picked a different one but purely just for aesthetic reasons.

MSI 3070 GAMING X TRIO, £720, Feb. 2021. Major UK online retailer.

Why: I wanted a 3080 to go with my 4k TV but failed miserably to get one at a sane price since launch. I saw the 3070 and went for it, got it. To me it was "good enough" as a placeholder until I can find a 3080+. Note at the time I was using a 2080 Ti which I bought used previously, but it didn't support the latest HDMI to go above 60 Hz with my TV. The 3070 enabled that even if it didn't offer more performance.

Good or bad: The GPU itself is great. I think MSI used the same cooler on higher cards like 3080 also, so the lower spec 3070 is really cool and quiet under any load. It isn't a 3080, it isn't at launch pricing, but having used it for a while now, it is "good enough" and I've pretty much decided not to try for a 3080 at current pricing levels. Will hold out and see what next generation brings.

Gaming system: R7 7800X3D, Asus ROG Strix B650E-F Gaming Wifi, Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE ARGB, Corsair Vengeance 2x 32GB 6000C30, RTX 4070, MSI MPG A850G, Fractal Design North, Samsung 990 Pro 2TB, Acer Predator XB241YU 24" 1440p 144Hz G-Sync + HP LP2475w 24" 1200p 60Hz wide gamut

This a typo? The 3070s didn't launch until October 2020.

I paid 759,90€ for my MSI RTX 3070 Suprim X in December 2020. I was building a new rig for Cyberpunk 2077 and all I was missing was the GPU. I originally wanted a 3080 but I couldn't find any in stock anywhere and then one evening I happened to notice that an online retailer here in Finland had gotten some of those 3070s in stock and I quickly bought one, luckily I did as half an hour later they too were sold out.

I don't game much on PC as Playstation is my main platform but I've been satisfied with the performance of the 3070 on the games I've played, CP2077 ran perfectly fine at 3440x1440 raytraced with DLSS enabled.

CD Projekt RED (the creator of CP2077) is 10km from me

I bought my ROG STRIX RTX 3090 for 1500USD (10.000DKK) at launch. Got a discount though for free by the retailer Komplett, where I bought it.

Yes, my signature says I got a ROG STRIX 3080 Ti OC LC. Long story short. I had issues with the ROG STRIX 3090, and ended up getting it swapped with the ROG STRIX 3080 Ti OC LC card. Yeah some might say that's a downgrade but thing is, the prices went up like crazy, so I was actually not owed a new ROG STRIX 3090, or any 3080 Ti for that matter, only the money I purchased the ROG STRIX 3090 for, which would only be half of the price of the ROG STRIX 3090 at the time of RMA, so I gladly took the ROG STRIX 3080 TI OC LC card - which also actually has higher FPS than a stock 3090 in games.

PC Setup:

HYTE Y60 White/Black + Custom ColdZero ventilation sidepanel

Intel Core i7-10700K + Corsair Hydro Series H100x

How does the 3060ti compare to the 3070?

One of my kids wants a 3070 or 3070ti for Xmas but I haven't been able to get another one.

3060ti might be easier to get

Tja that is probably because of the store, just wanted to do it that way

Both cards are good and yeah, but just a tiny difference. What does your child play?

Okay, so a 3070 is more than enough, even a 3060ti  (i use ultra wide 1440p)

So i don't really think going for a 3070ti is useful, as long as he's/she's willing to maybe play on a bit lowet quality than everything at max (1440p) 1080p should a 3060ti me absolutely spot on as that 3060(ti) are sold as 1080p cards and ultra wide 1080p (2560*1080)
