Please share your tips for laptop disassembly

Hi community, I will start working at a laptop service center and my job is to diagnosed and replace broken parts which is easy to do for the most part.

But my question is especially for those who work in the industry, what is your like core tips on disassembling a laptop since every laptop is gonna different can you give an advice on the subject and perhaps share your experience with it like the good practice, what you should do and avoid, etc because while i do have 3 years of experience on repairing computer, laptop isn't really my Forte and when I get asked about what I asked on this thread, I had a hard time trying to come up with the answer.

Be careful when using wet wipes to sanitize laptops. We've had instances where the bottom sheets were extra soaked as the liquid pools at the bottom of the container and it led to shorting a few keyboards. Now we're just using a vacuum to pickup the larger debris then following up with some rags/paper towels soaked with rubbing alcohol so even if we use too much, it'll dry out almost immediately.

As for disassembly, take photos so you can trace back how everything goes back together if you get lost. Get one of those magnetic screw dishes, those come in handy.

keep track of your screws, go slowly and don't rip panels off if you don't know what's under them and how they're attached.

Be very careful keeping track of screws, especially as regards similar looking ones of different length

Thank you everyone for the advice, it's just they expect me to be able to fix every laptop like as if they're alike. I just asked veteran on our local forum and even they said that they often do what you guys said and still watch a YouTube tutorial sometimes.

Fair enough. Ifixit may also have teardowns for some specific models
