GPU running in x8 Gen 4 (HELP!!!)

I can't seem to figure out how to run the card in x16 Gen 4, I have the BIOS set to x16 Gen 4, and even tried Gen 3 and the card is in the top PCIe x16 slot. I can't figure out why it's running x8. I have a Gigabyte RX 5500 XT OC (4GB VRAM, 3 fan model).

5500XT is indeed a 4.0 x8 card...

Desktop benching:

Cinebench R15 Single thread:168 Multi-thread: 833 

SuperPi (v1.5 from Techpowerup, PI value output) 16K: 0.100s 1M: 8.255s 32M: 7m 45.93s

No, it's designed to run at 4.0 x8. It's the equivalent of 3.0 x16 if you have a PCIe 4.0-capable motherboard and CPU.

you're not. 5500XT is too slow for PCIe connection to bottleneck even at 3.0 x8

Gen4 x8 is same as gen3 x16.
