So lately i have noticed that my psu is making a lot of sound, not the fans, but a ticking sound. once every 20 minutes it would tick real fast for a second and then stop, and every time i started the machine up it als started ticking for like 5 seconds. these ticks had a frequency of what i think to be 10-15hz and its pretty annoying because i can hear it trough my headphones while gaming. so today i started up the pc and by coincidence i was looking at it while ticking and i saw light coming from it, then i restarted it to see trough the back of it and i realised that there were arc coming from the psu to its casing. i was wondering if this is a problem in more powersupplies since i never heard of it before. i also immediately ordered a new one since this is a fire hazard. this boi has served me a good amount of time jumping from build to build and now its officially time to retire him.

Goodbye MS-tech MS-N650 VAL its been a good 8 years

P.S. if you notice a unusual sound coming from your psu, immediately check it out unlike i did. It's a fire hazard and it can ruin that precious rtx card u just bought or even your house if you are unlucky

Yea, that PSU is bad news bears. Before you take it to an electronics recycler, I’d cut the ends off the wires so no one tries to use it in the future if they happen to come across it.

I had a fan clipping the shroud, but that's a different story from the internals trying to set the building on fire.
