Hi everyone. Have a weird Scenario, iv noticed my PC is turning on by itself sometimes. I recently setup HDMI ARC for my TV connected to my PC. Could that have something to do with it?
For example i put PC off at night, I wake up and PC is on. I turn it off before i leave for work, Then my wife says the PC is on again.
Have no idea what's happening.

are you sure you do not put the pc to sleeping or hibarnate mode by accident?

also´you might want to check your fornt panel connectors

Check with command prompt

powercfg -lastwake

what actually woke it up.

Right, I'm pretty sure turning those off would stop it.

Edit: that wasn't irony... i really wasn't sure... but i do remember my pc did this... pc completely shut down... still woke up every other "morning" at 5am... a true ghost pc ! 👻

It was super difficult to actually turn it off... i don't remember fully, it was complicated and rather random lol, does involve to become "trusted installer" however iirc...

Device manager, Network Adapters, select network card(s), right click -> properties, Power Management, check "Only allow a magic packet to wake the computer."

I doubt it's the HDMI ARC but if the problem continues then select that device and remove the check next to "Allow this device to wake the computer" if it has one.
