ASUS R9290 GPU freezing causing pc to crash

When I run any games (f1 2020 and battlefront2) on my r9290 it either freezes intermittently or I get a black screen and the pc needs restarting. I manually increased the fan speed which was stopping it from crashing. Then I changed the thermal paste and removed dust etc. Now i can keep it from killing the pc, however it still freezes even on low settings. Is this just the card not being good enough or is their a fault? 
 

I have included a screenshot from Radeon software hopefully this is of use.

sounds like something is overheating battlefront 2 is a pretty demanding game and I use it for real life stress testing lower your clocks and voltage and it should fix your problem.

Have you tried turning down the graphical settings at all??? You're nearing the limit of 4GB as you're at 3667MB on the card. This may induce stuttering as any more VRAM the card will need will turn to RAM, which is slower and severally impacts performance.
