Built New System, Won't Boot

EthanJD

Hello everyone,

I recently built a new system with a Ryzen 7 3700x, B550M Pro4 motherboard, GTX 1060 3gb, and a RM750 corsair power supply. A few days ago I took it to Best Buy in order to see if they could solve my issue, they eventually told me it was a PSU issue and sent it back to me. I then bought a brand new PSU since they said the other one was faulty, but when I put it all together today and attempted to get it to post it wouldn't with all the same symptoms as before. On the motherboard there are LED light that indicate, to which when i switch off the PSU the CPU and DRAM lights flash.

I'm honestly lost with what the issue is and was hoping that someone might be able to give me a better idea of what's going on here.

has the build worked properly at any time? Or no joy since it was put together?

The only reoccurring part in this build in the GPU, everything else is new. So the entire system is essentially new.

Any reason you bought a 750w psu? That seems overkill,  500w would be more than enough.

What was your old psu?

My old PSU was a 500 80+ bronze from EVGA, I had it for over 4 years and wanted to get a fully modular PSU with enough power for a higher wattage GPU down the line.

I guess that makes sense, but I don't think your issues are psu related. Try updating the bios.

Is there any way to get to the BIOS if the computer won't turn on? The fans inside of the case won't even turn on when I hold down the power button

Oh right this doesn't seem to have a bios flash button... then I guess your next best bet is getting another motherboard,  preferably with bios flashback...

Can you still return the board?

I think I should be able to send it back since I got it through Amazon, is there a specific motherboard you'd recommend?
