Best Bang For The Buck Motherboard (AM-4)

I'm currently looking into upgrading my system.

The new CPU will be a Ryzen7 5700G.

I'm undecided about which MoBo to get along with that. I got my eye on the ASUS TUF GAMING B550-PLUS - mainly because it's cheap.

Is there something much better that I should consider?

I'm not a power user.

My current setup is an i7 4770 with 16gig DDR3 RAM and a 1660 Super.

The TUF Gaming is a fine board, but to me, the best bang for the buck boards are probably the MSI B550-A Pro and MSI B550M Bazooka. Both are able to handle the 16 core parts (although you don't wanna OC on the Bazooka) so you have an upgrade path and they come with a good set of features for close to $100-120.

However, it really depends on the features that you, personally, need/want. Why did you initially pick the TUF Gaming?

My 1660 Super is a TUF Gaming card and the board is mostly black with little to no RGB.

It's full size and was among the cheapest boards with a 550 in the name and with the stuff I thought useful 🙂

No particular reason.
