Parts suggestions for a PC ft used AMD FX-9590 & R9 290x

Budget (including currency): as affordable as possible

Country: Canada

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for:  I wanted to make use of it by testing a whole bunch of Linux distros on a dedicated hardware and use a dedicated PC to compile stuff without needing to sacrifice my current gaming PC.

* CPU: AMD FX-9590 4.7 GHz 8-Core Processor  (Purchased For $0.00)
* CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler  (Purchased For $0.00)
* Motherboard: Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard  (Purchased For $0.00)
* Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) DDR3-1866 CL8 Memory  (Purchased For $0.00)
* Storage: Crucial MX500 500 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  (Purchased For $0.00)
* Video Card: Sapphire Radeon R9 290X 8 GB Vapor-X Video Card  (Purchased For $0.00)

Before you suggest I return these or something, I got all these for free from a relative.  Perfectly aware how hot this can be, but I'm planning on undervolting (and maybe underclock) to control the heat.

I typically just have my motherboards on a desk for temporary testing. Good airflow and easy to store away.

Main: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti, 16 GB 4400 MHz DDR4 Fedora 38 x86_64

Secondary: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G, 16 GB 2667 MHz DDR4, Fedora 38 x86_64

Server: AMD Athlon PRO 3125GE, 32 GB 2667 MHz DDR4 ECC, TrueNAS Core 13.0-U5.1

Home Laptop: Intel Core i5-L16G7, 8 GB 4267 MHz LPDDR4x, Windows 11 Home 22H2 x86_64

Work Laptop: Intel Core i7-10510U, NVIDIA Quadro P520, 8 GB 2667 MHz DDR4, Windows 10 Pro 22H2 x86_64

Something like an open-air test bench?

 

Any recommended open-air test bench that won't break the bank?  As cool as the Cooler Master MasterFrame 700 is, this is just pricey.

I doubt this thing will even cool that 9590, you know how much of a nuclear reactor these crappy fx cpus were

 

 

The rest looks ok but i really suggest selling the cpu + mb and swapping it out for a cheap lga 1156 + xeon (if you wanna f around with ocing) or cheap lga 1155 + xeon (power efficient and decent performing)

Eh i guess those enthusiasts that like ocing amd fx cpus cause they do oc pretty well and they do sell for abit on the used market

The Xeon's for those platforms really aren't much more efficient than the normal desktop chip. I've never been able to measure a difference (Except for the intentional low power S/T chips). Ivy Bridge alone is just plain efficient.

I think i meant better undervolting on the xeons cause they have better silicon than the consumer parts

 

Tbh xeons are usually cheaper than their consumer counterparts for some reason so thats why i suggest xeons
