Can I use these 3 8-pin connectors for my 3090?

Go to solution Solved by jones177,

That is the best way to run the card.

Running it any other way may cause issues if you decide to have some fun.

The FTW3 uses 450 watts overclocked and each 8 pin is good for 150 watts. They can draw more but can end in a failure over time.  So 150 x 3 = 450.

Then there is the PCIe slot and it is good for 75 watts.

I have an EVGA RTX 3090, and it has three 8-pin connectors to power it. On my PSU, it looks like it has enough connectors, but they are grouped weird, so I don't know if I can use them all. Are all the 8-pins the same, and the cable is what is important? These are the 3 I was going to use, but I want to ask first.

Power supply: Corsair 850W Gold rated

GPU: EVGA FTW3 Ultra

Yes those 8 pin housings are for cpu and gpu. Just make sure you plug the other end into the correct part. So you should have 3 x gpu cables and 2 x cpu cables, and there are 5 x 8 pin housings in total.
