Suspicious black dot on GPU

Hi, so I have an RX5600xt from Asus, and opened it up to change the thermal paste and found a 'black dot' in the chip and heatsink. Does anyone know what it is?

That almost looks like a chip out of the top of the die. I assume it isn't flat and you can feel it if you run your finger over it. Does the card still work?

Yes it does work properly, the thermal paste was wrongly placed when I first opened it thoe

Looks to me like contamination in the form of plastic or something.

Looks like either a burn mark from a hotspot, or liquid metal oxidized residue that wasn't fully cleaned up properly with a 2000 grit sandpaper wipe + isopropyl alcohol.

Can you try cleaning it using a qtip dip in IPA? Dont rub ur finger on the gpu chip.
