Budget Solidworks/CAD build

Budget (including currency): $500-1000

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Solidworks primarily with only reading drawings and occasionally opening models. No editing. Light office work.

Other details

I have a Quadro 2000 V2 1GB GDDR5 and a PNY Quadro P1000 but I will consider a better card if it fits under $1000 budget. Also pre-built's are also accepted assuming they're in stock and can be shipped immediately.

I also have a monitor, mouse, and keyboard.

This should be okey card,  Quadro 2000 is crap 😄

Yo can't buy better card than P1000 in this price range, So get good system up and running and if need be, Get good GPU down the line.

You won't find any normal prebuilt, So build it by yourself.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

I like this one since it seems it'll also keep being useful for future upgrades.

Yeah, It will allow upgrade to I9 11900 without any problem, Also will allow RAM upgrade to 64GB easily and 750W power supply will allow good GPU upgrade 😄

But anyways, 10700F is 8 core CPU with good speeds, So it won't struggle against any task you'll throw at it.

Can I ask why you didn't choose the AMD route?

So looking at some benchmarks it looks like the 5600X has slight faster clock speeds at the cost of 2 cores. As far I know Solidworks generally likes higher clock speeds than cores, right? Do you think it makes more sense to get the 5600X since it's the same price?

When I made a list, 10700F was cheaper 😄 It was below 250 USD yesterday.

It price claimed up, So get 5600X and MSI B550-A Pro if u want. Most likely it won't give you any difference.
