I'm building a PC for a friend as he's in need of a platform upgrade and a case that actually has all the side panels (Don't ask). I wanted to add a 12v RGB strip I had leftover from a two pack I bought for my PC, but I don't have a cable to connect it from a daisychain to a 12v header. I have a daisychain cable, but the only daisychain I can connect it to is for the 5v A-RGB from the Phanteks P360A. Would connecting a 12v strip into a 5v daisychain be bad? If so, how?

Yes. Because the pinout is different.

12v rgb is voltage controlled. you mix 3 colors to get 1 color. each color has its own ground and voltage so dimming it or making it brighterbe reducing and increasing the voltage. but go too low and it will be off.

5v argb has ground 5v and data witch sends data to each led making each one have a different color.  the 5v dose not change in voltage stays 5v all the time.

i sapos if you had an 5v rgb strip and you can plug in one led for one color at full brightness i guess...

this is the best video i can find the expanses what argb is and how it works.
