Would a 65" tv work?

OozerBooBooDooDoo

My son plays his Xbox on a 55 inch television and he has never complained.  So, maybe your answer is a partway yes because it is an Xbox and not a PC.

TV size has nothing to do with how good it can be run. It depends on the resolution. As most modern 65" TV's are 4K, you should ideally have at least an RTX 3080 or RX 6800XT or better to reliably get to 60 fps or more.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

it's not the physical size that's the problem, it's the pixel count.

now... these days most decent TV are 4k, but that doesnt stop you from running a game at 1080p.

A TV will have some input latency but if you don't mind that, you can play just fine.

You DON'T have to play at 4K, you can play at 1080p and just have the TV run at that resolution.

Or, you could configure the game at something between 1080p and 4K, if your video card can't handle 4K, for example, you could set 3840x1440 or 3840x1600 and have the video card send 4K to the TV ... you'll see crystal clear image on TV, but with some black bars on top and bottom of the image, like playing on ultra wide monitor.

Switch the TV to game mode this should alter all the setting to reduce input lag. At this point in time you will probably very happy with the performance but as your become more knowledgeable about what effects your gaming experience  maybe not so much. Try it and if your happy do it, Ignorance is bliss!

Most mid and high end TV nowaday have no more processing delay than a gaming monitor. You just have to put them into their "Game" picture mode.

As mentioned above, input lag is the big factor.  If that is imperceptible to you, then go ahead.  I wouldn't recommend it for twitch shooters or gamers to whom a 300hz monitor is marketed--but for casual gamers, it probably works fine.

That's a bit big for a desk though.  I wouldn't go bigger than 50" (21:9) if you are planning to use it at a desk.  And that's if its curved.
