Should I swap my GTX 1080Ti for RTX 3060?

Dyepoy

I'm aware that my 1080Ti is faster in some games compare to the 3060 but I want to try some RTX/DLSS and have low power consumption (lol). 1080Tis are currently sold in my country for $600 and 3060s are selling from 600 to 800 depending on brand. I mainly play on 1080p144hz.

Storage: Samsung 970 Evo (OS Drive) & Samsung PM981 (Game Drive)

You need to check out some you tube benchmarks for what fps that card can reach in the games you want to play with ray tracing turned on. Personally I think your wasting your money!

If you were getting a 3060ti/3070 then I'd say yes, but a 3060 doesn't make sense to me here

No.

Wait until prices come down and get a 3070/3080/6700XT/6800XT for $600-800.

The RX 7000 and RTX 4000 mid range cards might sell for this price even more reason to wait.

I wouldnt hold ur breath on prices coming down to much.

Nvidia and AMD have made a concerted effort to move all performance tiers up a price bracket, hence £/$1000+ x80ti's for the last 2 generations.

Raytracing is a nothingburger (hey its more 'wet/shiny' even if its just a barren waste land without any water whatsoever...) dlss is cool, if you have a weak card, your card isn't weak so you don't need it...

I would only do this if you actually make profit,  cause the 1080ti is worth much more than a 3060. 🤷‍♂️

Raytracing is supported by the 1080Ti... its not gonna be fast, but probably playable at ~30fps or so, good enough for looking at bizarre "shinieness" : D
