Need Help regarding NAS

hey there,

 

can any one suggest NAS Software for core 2 dual with h61 motherboard & 4 Gb Ram, as i am thinking of resourcing  my old system

Linux. Personally i'd go with a standard Ubuntu or Gentoo installation but there are multiple other options in terms of general purpose distributions (e.g. CentOS, OpenSuSE) or specialised distributions, e.g. OpenMediaVault. 1-2 GB Ram are more than enough for OpenMediaVault running a software RAID5 with ext4, Samba and NFS.
