Network usage per software not higher than 100Mbps

Go to solution Solved by Skiiwee29,

Can you verify on your router or AP that its negotiating at 1gig?

Looking at my Ubiquti AC Pro it shows me that I have 1gig uplink.

Weird thing I noticed after getting my hands on a NAS. The copy speed from-to the NAS is only around ~100Mbps even though I am connected at ~300Mbps (WLAN; Soon to be 1Gbps LAN). The network usages doesn't go higher than 30%. This is also true if I copy to another PC, not just the NAS.

I can start a copy and, for example, an internet speed test in chrome, which results in 60% network use. 100 and another 100 Mbps, but none of them go higher individually.

Is there some kind of hidden setting which is limiting my speeds? Drivers are up to date...

Can't wait to hear your tips!

Sounds like your router/switch or whatever you're connected to may only be capable of 100Mbps and not Gigabit.

Thanks for the fast answer!
I am connected to a Ubiquiti AP which is connected to the router directly per 1Gbit port.

The connection itself has a 310 Mbps speed. And as said, I can use a 200 or even 300Mbps connection, but only 100Mbps per software. If I start three different streams/file transfers, it uses up my whole connection. If I had a bottleneck somewhere, that wouldn't be possible, right?

What NAS are you using? I'd assume it's connected through ethernet, right?

300 is theoretical, even in the wireless tab. WLAN doesn't work as well as people think.

That's it! Thank you!
The AP was at only at 100. Not sure what caused it, but after changing a few cables and ports on the router, it's at a full 1000 now.
