When I look up if the xbox series s supports 1440p I always find that it does but that it does not support ultra wide monitors

a 1080p 24inch and 1440p 32inch has similar pixel density, just buy a good 1080p 144hz if it's cheaper.

So I want to buy a new monitor because I am soon buying an xbox series s. I am stuck between choosing a 144hz 1080p monitor or 60 to 75hz 2k monitor. One of my friends keeps saying just buy the 144hz one the other buy the better quality one. The 144Hz would most likely be 24 inch because of price and the 2k one is 32 inch I found it used. I have a pc so I would use it as a monitor for my pc and xbox. Any advice you can give me? Probably be good to mention  that I am slowly playing less fps games almost not at all and mostly playing racing games.

This would be 2 options I found for now:

Depends on what you're doing..

Higher FPS if you have a high refresh rate monitor makes sense.

Higher resolution gives you greater graphical fidelity and improves the eye candy, but at the cost of frame rates and FPS.

By 2k monitor, what do you mean? There is no real 2k "standard"... are you talking about 1440p or 4k? If 1440p, meaning 2560x1440p, the Xbox does not support this resolution, so your games would be downscaled to 1080p anyways.

yeah I meant 1440p,but I saw online that it just does not support ultra wide resolutions and that you can play at 1440p so I found wrong info then?
