Thermal transfer - I believe they do a small copper powder coating to help with cooling.

Planning on trying StarCitizen (Highly recommended)? STAR-NR5P-CJFR is my referal link

the copperish spray paint?

I mean the sheet metal maybe, but I don't see how a spray paint can do such job

It's not exactly paint, this is copper oxide coating. It's needed since puting just metal place would short a component if it bends (from a fall f.e.)

Futureproof your builds and try not to fry anything

it really doesn't take much metal to make a surprising dent in EMI transmission.

A super thin layer makes a very notable difference, if you're using tools to measure it.  (And foil is thinner than you realize it is.)
