I wouldn't get it. I've seen these kinda cars get trashed all the time, and eventually into a better place. I would try to find a good Honda Civic for somewhere around that price.

The american escort wasn't an horrible car, it was quite reliable. I can't say the same about the euro escort (we had both in my country) they are really depressing.

Yes, the Ford Escort in EU used to be a RWD machine that was used in rally racing, but mk3 onwards was reduced to a FWD shopping cart. I despise them, it's like a baby mondeo with no character or style. They were phased out in favour of the Ford Focus here in Europe.

That is an original escort, the focus was the replacement of the euro escort. I believe the focus came out in 98'.
