lower end 3080 ti

What would be the risks/downsides for going for the lower end of the series, for example GeForce RTX 3080 Ti EAGLE?

 

Considering the various deals and value for price, with later being, ehem, not ideal.

For the most part the only differences you are looking at between each variant of new GPUS,  are the heatsink and warranty of the cards. In the state everything is in, its shard to be picky. The EAGLE is not a bad model as well.

It will run hotter, combined with worse PCB design and less factory overclock means stock performance and overclock on average is going to be worse than more expensive models.

Lower end have 3080 ti use reference PCBs and in the US cost $1200.

 

I have a EVGA version(XC3 Ultra). 

It runs at a few frames less than my MSI Gaming X Trio.

Both of my 3080 tis are a challenge to cool since they put out as much heat stock as my 2080 ti did overclocked.

I would have gotten water cooled versions(hybrids) if they came up in an auto notify or a Newegg shuffle but they did not.

One of the down sides is placement. I bought a Corsair 5000D just for a hybrid since none of my other cases would fit one.

Thanks for the comments. Ended up ordering 3080 ti Aorus Master b/c that was what I have found for the least insane price.

 

I hope my order actually goes through.
