2tb 256mb cache vs. 3tb 64mb cache

Plickity

I’ve found these two drives that look good but can’t choose. I’d use the drive mainly just to store games and videos. The problem is, as aforementioned in the title, I don’t know what is a better deal.

Drive 1: 2tb, 7200rpm, 256mb cache, $55usd https://www.newegg.com/seagate-barracuda-st2000dm008-2tb/p/N82E16822184773

Drive 2: 3tb, 7200rpm, 64mb cache, $65usd https://www.newegg.com/seagate-barracuda-st3000dm008-3tb/p/N82E16822178994

Advice would be appreciated

I got the 3tb model. Gettin' around 120-130 MB/s read and write with around 340 GB free space on it. I keep it defragged though but not too bad speed I think. Believe I've seen 170-190 speeds with more free space but don't quote me on that.. 😛

I'm looking for another one to raid my current one actually but can't find it here anymore..

Both drives are fine. I own at least one of each. My ST3000DM008 gets about 190MB/s reads and writes. I don't have any blank ST2000DM008 drives handy (I do have some in use though), but they're very similar. For your needs the 3TB model is fine.
