Hi,

I am about to buy the final part for my build but cannot decide on a memory kit to pair with a 5900x and Asus b550-e. So far I have narrowed it down to these two https://www.overclockers.co.uk/team-group-8pack-edition-32gb-2x16gb-ddr4-pc4-28800c16-3600mhz-dual-channel-kit-my-002-8p.html , https://uk.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/bl2k16g36c16u4wl and would like some opinions / first hand experiences / other recommendations as I really don't want to mess this up😄.

Thanks for the help! This forum has been a great help both in my growth into computer science and into the pcmr xD

Stay safe,

Lex.

Ended this thread due to some confusion created on my half xD. Thanks to everybody who helped!

the faster the better. you probably wont benefit from more than 16gb of ram but you should get 2x8gbs in case youll want to upgrade. Ryzen loves fast ram so that should be your priority. Quality over quantity. The ram you chose should work nicely and if the full 32gbs is in your budget i see no reason why you shouldnt go for it. i have to mention that i've never heard or seen this ram. I'd recommend corsair or cruical

I need 32gb for sure 😄, my concern is the chips used and general quality / reliability of the memory.

Have you had any first hand experience either with this kit or the brand themselves specifically their memory. I know memory quality is mostly determined based on its chips etc but just want to make sure 😄 ty for the help

Go for crucial ballistix 3600mhz cl16, pretty fast ram and if you do overclock it you will get even more performance

Tbh if youd like to save some money then go for 3200mhz cl16 rams, much cheaper and you can overclock them to 3600mhz anyways

Btw have you built your system yet?

And if you havent, what parts are you planning to buy or have already bought?

No, I prefer G.Skill. I chose them because they might be B-Die. Flat 16s are better than 16 with some 18s 😄

System is already underway and every part has been purchased all bar the memory. Budget isnt a constraint although i'd like to stay at £200. The parts are the 5900x, b550-e, rtx 2060 (temp gpu), lian li o11 mini, nhd15 chromax black, sf750, 970 evo plus 1tb.

Are you sure the crucial is the better kit? The teamgroup one has bdies and is apparently very good at ocing in comparison to the crucial. Not to mention i may need to return the crucial due to it potentially turning up as a single rank (not to be mistaken with single channel) kit.

Thanks for the help 😄

I initially was buying a G.skill kit but unfortunately the uk seems to have a sever lack of them atm and the ones i can import have no warranty or have an extreme mark up either due to shipping / customs or general price hikes

ty for the help
