Z590 M.2 Slot 1 Disabled with 10th Gen i9

Hi guys,

I am looking to buy a Z590 motherboard with a 10th gen i9. It says that the m.2 slot 1 requires and 11th gen so it is disabled. I also am putting in a 980 pro and want to use pcie 4.0 for full performance. Would this mean that I won't have a pcie 4.0 slot and would you recommend me to downgrade if so to a z940 or b560?

Thanks

There is no pcie gen 4 on 10th gen cpus, so there is no way to run it at gen 4 speeds.

Id either get a 11th gen cpu here, or get a z490 board, as the extra features of z590 can only be used with 11th gen chips.

Id probably get a 970 evo if your going with 10th gen as they preform very simmilar on gen 3.
