A Solid Four-inch cube is coated with purple paint on all six sides.  then the cube is cut into smaller one-inch cubes.  These new one-inch cubes will have either three purple sides, two purple sides, one purple side, or no purple sides. How many of each will there be? and Show Your Work  :ph34r:  :D  :rolleyes: Before i forget the first one gets a good-job :)

24 = 2 Sides

24 = 1 Side

  8 = 0 Sides

 

 

2x2x2 cube of blanks -> 8

6x2x2 one sided on each of the sides of the blank cube.

12x2x1 2 sided ones for the edges

and 8x1 3 sided ones for the corners.

 

= 64 = 4x4x4

Frost upon these cigarettes.... lipstick on the window pane...
