Fan config

scoobydoo10uk2000

I have a corsair obsidian 350d case with 4 x140mm and 1 x120mm fans.  What would be the best config for then. Intake outtake etc. I was thinking 2 front 140mm intake and rear 120mm intake. With 2 top 140mm outtake.  Im running a i5 9400f fitted with aerocool lp fan with 2x8gb corsair ram and gtx 970 twin frozr.

As long as there is some inflow and some outflow, the temperature difference would be negligible with your specs. However, the most efficient would be front as intake, back and top as exhaust and a slight negative pressure in the case.

The more I learn, the more I realise I don't actually know anything.

Recommendations: Lian Li 205m (sleek, pretty decent airflow for a non-mesh front panel and cheap), i5-10400f (Ryzen 5 3600 performance, 20% cheaper), Arctic P14 PWM fans, Logitech g305.

Lots of computers and rackmount servers use a front-to-back airflow. Some power amplifiers (almost all of the QSC amplifiers and all the old Crest amplifiers, for example) use a back-to-front airflow. Still others use a back-to-sides or front-to-sides.

I like back-to-front most, because if one of the fans dies, I can usually spot it on power up rather than half an hour later when the equipment has gone into thermal fault mode. Really a minor thing, but kind of nice.
