Chenbro NR12000 - SAS drives?

Hello everyone,

I stumbled across Craft Computing's video on the Chenbro NR12000, and purchased one to make use of some old SAS and SATA drives I have laying around, while not losing too much rack space.

Unfortunately the server I received only has "L" SATA cables.  How can I "convert" the connectors to SAS without losing the opportunity to fully populate the server?

I looked for replacement power cables for SAS drives to replace the SATA cables without much luck.  And an "adapter" will probably use too much real estate.

Any ideas?   Thanks!

This will still work for you I expect, doesn't add much depth to each disk.

For your application converting to SFF-8482 is your only option/cable type you can use with SAS disks, whether that is from SATA or SAS (i.e. SFF-8087 to 4 SFF-8482) on the motherboard/HBA.
