I am looking to build a cheap computer for my senor high school project, something that can be used as a media server, file backup, or the possibility to add a video card (spare GTX 650ti Boost from my current computer) to make it a light gaming rig. How do these parts look, and can any improvements be made? (Using onboard graphics)

CPU:  Intel Pentium G3220 3.0GHz Dual-Core Processor  ($65.97 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard:  ASRock H81M-ITX Mini ITX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($59.99 @ Newegg)
Case:  Cooler Master Elite 130 Mini ITX Tower Case  ($42.99 @ Mwave)
Total: $334.92
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

I just picked out a mini-itx case to save space, but that can be replaced with an ATX/mATX case/motherboard setup. The Pentium should perform well for what I need it for, as well as having decent onboard graphics for at least 1080p movie streaming, and the power supply has enough wattage and is efficient, good for high usage.

That is pretty minimal, what OS/FileSystem?

Probably Windows 7/8 to be able to match my current programs/games; and I am more familiar with it than Linux.

70$ 450w psu? Microcenter sells corsair cx400 or something for like 19.99

Yes, but I would want something capable of a low power draw with a great reliability; the rig would be running 24/7. I never cheap out on power supplies, although I am running a CX750M in my gaming setup.

I would ether get the WD Blue HDD, or use a spare one of mine. It would still be nice to have an 80+ Gold PSU to keep the energy costs down.

Edit: Like this capstone: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/rosewill-power-supply-capstone450 , costs the same thing.

The barracuda is better and cheaper than the blue.

It's faster?

The average read/write speeds of the barracuda are 156MB/s compared to the max read/write speeds of the WD blue at 150MB/s.
