If this is the easiest way... I´ll try. But what is it? Just a programm or a feature from nvidia or amd?

Amd has a setting called virtual super resolution in the settings->display of the adrenaline software.

im sure it’s a feature under another name on nvidia

Hey guys,

I just bought two new monitors.

Both are 27"

Mainscreen ist 1440p 144hz

Second is 1080p 60hz

Both are running at a 2080ti

if I change monitors with my mouse there is kind of a invisible wall and I just can´t fix it. Windows is scaling them in two differnt sizes, but they just have another resolution.

Is there a workaround or a programm to fix this. Google told me nothing accept from people with the same issue.

Maybe someone had the same problem and found something to fix.

and just to clear things up: I don´t want to go to 1080p with my main monitor, because this would be a waste of money.

thx

You can set the scaling differently for each monitor. But with different resolutions you're always going to have a "wall" somewhere, just slide the window to the right place.

You can set up something like display super resolution, it will render the monitor at a higher res and downscale.

that may fix it, but I can’t guarantee that

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

There is a workaround. What you need to do is open up Nvidia control panel, go to change resolution, select the 1080p display, hit "Customize...", check the box labeled "Enable resolutions not exposed by the display", then click "Create Custom Resolution". Once in there, enter the dimensions for 1440p into the corresponding boxes (2560x1440) and hit test. Once you hit test, if the screen goes black and stays black for 10-15 seconds, this workaround won't work. If it comes up with a box asking you to save, hit yes. Close out of the "Customize" window and change the resolution in NVIDIA control panel or in windows settings (NVIDIA control panel can be buggy with changing resolutions and refresh rates)

This isn't perfect, since text will be noticeably blurrier, but it does accomplish the goal of making it so dragging windows between the panels will be a lot more seamless.

the "invisible wall" as you put it, is it when you try to go from one screen to the other, is it in the middle of a screen?

No it is not i the middle. just like @Kilrah showed up I just can´t scale them the same way

Ok the result was just two black screens. It´s called DSR from Nvidia. But I´ll give it another go

Nevermind it worked. If there is anyone out there with the same problem on nvidia:

open nvidia config

go to 3D settings

search for DSR and tick the resolution you want

go to change resolution

tick the resolution you want

apply

Great, glad I was able to help then
