Connecting SoundBlasterX AE-5 to speakers and subwoofer

Hey,

Long story short, how do you connect the speakers and subwoofer to the AE5?

Which cable do I need?

The setup was going to be speaker wire from right speaker to left (powered) then RCA (male) to RCA male on my X-Fi Titanium HD (which doesn't work with the recent Windows 10 it seems).

Then I worked around it and connected the powered speaker through 3,5mm to the on-board 3,5mm jack (green) in order to make use of them for now.

While it also supports Bluetooth I'd rather not use it for this desktop.

The soundcard has Left, Right channel and Center for the Sub, but it looks like banana plugs or something (never used those)??

Wouldn't that mean that either the left or right channel isn't occupied....it's driving me crazy. The card is on the way, but you can see what I mean through the links and videos below.

All in all, I'm trying to get the best experience out of them. Does the subwoofer now go directly to the soundcard or?

Thanks in advance,

You need one 3.5mm -> 2 RCA cable adapter, connect the 3.5mm head into sound card front L/R, and RCA into YU6 where RCA is labelled. You also need single RCA cable to connect YU6 sub out to Sub 8 (either left or right jack).

You can adjust subwoofer's level and crossover frequency on your Sub 8, and not on sound card's program.

Thanks for your response.

I went ahead and bought this subwoofer cable: https://www.amazon.nl/gp/product/B00CAPMIZS/

Along with a 3.5 to 3.5mm for the speakers to souncard: https://www.thomann.de/nl/cordial_cfs_3_ww_snow.htm

This was the other option but I figured since it's RCA going to 3.5mm anyway there's no point in it.

Such a damn shame Creative went with 3.5mm instead of RCA, but then again for what it is one might not hear the difference.
