You have a great brother, tell him you love him because a 2070 on today's market is higher that it was when he bought it 3 years ago.

If your brother is fine with it sell the i7-4790k and mainboard and buy from that money a more powerful CPU + mainboard.

Those i7 and mainboards are "unreasonably" priced making this possible.

That board has DDR3 and that means he should sell the RAM as well.

@DexyIf you do upgrade, don't upgrade for less than a Ryzen 5 3600x or an I7-9700K

Well I will consider that but yet I have no job a and I'm living with my parents and basically I can't afford other components atm but if this PC can run at least  100+ fps on medium/ high settings I'm fine with it, hope I don't have the bottleneck from the old gpu with 2070 super . And btw do u think he will do alright on Red dead redemtion 2? At least 100 fps on medium or high? I'm not talking about ultra and 4k because ik it will be laggy af.

Not sure if you noticed but he's a young kid, may not be able to do what you suggest.  Offering suggestions is fine and what we do here, but need to understand the scenario and what the audience is actually asking.

Well atm i will keep it this way and maybe Next year upgrade to I7-9700K and 16gb ddr4 and also a new motherboard, luckily where I live u can work on summer even if your not 18 and well u get around 50$ a week since its 2h/day but if I work around a month Or two and with some help of my parents maybe I will make the upgrade next year.

Thank you guys for the support and as much as I read I can run games at nice fps well I know it might struggle a bit for new titles but I can handle it, I usually play on normal/ high cause ultra and 4k are not my thing yet. Should I also consider to buy an second hand 144hz monitor or 120hz?
