CSM / Secure Boot.

Hello,

Currently in my PC secure boot is disabled and CSM support is enabled.

I have a Gigabyte H310M Mobo.

What will happen if I disable CSM and enable Secure Boot ?

All my drives are in MBR.

Your Windows install will no longer boot if you disable CSM. You'll need to convert the partitions to GPT before Windows will boot again.

An SSD to install Windows on helps with performance, it has nothing to do with either CSM or MBR.

PC Specs - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D MSI B550M Mortar - 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4-3600 @ CL16 - ASRock RX7800XT 660p 1TBGB & Crucial P5 1TB Fractal Define Mini C CM V750v2 - Windows 11 Pro

Okay.

So, if I install windows on a GPT SSD and then connect all the other drives will it work ?

Yes, as long as CSM is disabled and UEFI is not set to Legacy/BIOS (if you have that option).

If you are getting a SATA SSD, make sure that your SATA controller is also not set to legacy mode, and AHCI is enabled.

(Refer to your motherboard manual to look for these, as motherboard UEFI/BIOS layout (and wording of everything) is not only is drastically different between motherboard manufacturers, but also between models from the same manufcature.
