I actually hear it as well on 240hz mode. Although the loudness is less than my AIO and fans on low when idle. So if it really is that loud then maybe your monitor was just bad luck.

I can't hear it from my chair, but if I put my ear up to the monitor, I can hear it quite loudly. And the only reason I even heard it the first time, was because I was plugging in a USB stick to the back of the monitor and had to see where the USB ports are, and heard it.

I'd avoid the G7, littered with quality control issues and panel variance that can make it's contrast drop to 1700:1 depending on unit, so depending on your luck it's just a worse IPS.

though it has to be said, nothing's cheaper in terms of 240hz
