How long is it until you upgrade the monitor?

At $300 the 1070 isn't a terrible choice, and will net you better results than the CPU. I wouldn't bother upgrading to a system with DDR4 when DDR5 is so close. Just go all out and grab the new platform next year.

Agreed with @dizmo.

The i7-2600 is still quite capable, and can handle a 1070 reasonably well. Look to upgrade the platform later on, once the market cools off and DDR5 is more established.

Main: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti, 16 GB 4400 MHz DDR4 Linux - Fedora

I will upgrade the monitor in two weeks time from now... But is it worth it tho?i mean with all the gpu shortage i know 1070 at $300 is a good deal but second hand... That what making me hesitate.
