EDIT: Seems like your router does not support USB printers, you need to change it. Only supports storage devices.

When you're printing are you selecting the printer itself? make sure its it set at default. Go back to Printers and devices and make sure it is set to default printer.

it is my default printer but it says its offline?

That explains why it is not printing, it is disconnected and offline. Now, you said it is connected to your router, correct? Turn the printer off, connect the USB back to the router and then turn the printer back on.

so turn it off, unplug from router, replug into router, then turn it back on?

ive done thatt= but its still showingg up the same in devices and printers

Remove it and add it again Same process as before.

? no the printer isnt wireless. its wired. i mentioned it in my original post. if it was wireless i wouldn't have bothered hooking it up to my router in the first place

Nevermind. Saw the wrong model on google lol. Why not replace your router that supports USB Printers?

thats the thing you see, i first had my basic ISP-provided router right, AC1200, then after being fed up with its range and perf i went and bought a new one. AX50, this became my new main and the AC1200 went into a corner of a closet. A few months later i decided to tinker around with the settings, my goal was to try and set up the AC1200 as a repeater in my bedroom as the AX50 is in the Main hall which is ~20 feet from my room (+a 2--3walls) and signal was pretty bad. Simultaneously i decided i also want to wireless-ify  my wired printer. To my fucking dismay, each router had a feauture the other didnt. The AX50 had repeater functionality but no print server. The AC1200 had print server but no repeater functionality. Then i decided to swict ISPs because the one i was switching was offering 500mbps for the same price that my previous ISP was charging 100mbps. Along with the switch cam a new router, the Huawei one and i hoped that this would solve my problems. Alas, for i am cursed. it doesn't seem this will work either.

I think I saw a way of using a Raspberry PI as a print server. Basically the Printer connects to the Pi and the Pi connects to the network. It might be something to check out.
