QX2710 Not working

MC_loud
Go to solution Solved by MeltyMoon,

I'd have figured that the display would at least turn on and I'm using the included DVI cable and a GTX 780. If the cable were not strong enough, you'd think that they wouldn't give a crap cable, right?

The blinking led on the qnix means it doesn't have a signal going to it. I own one, so there might be a problem with the cable they gave you. Just a suggestion

So I purchased a qx2710 and recieved it today, but when I press the power button, the display doesnt turn on and the power led just flickers. If I take out the power cord and plug it back on, the monitor will show red then green and turn off. Does anyone know a fix for this or should I try to return.

I say try to RMA or at least return it. Seems like a defected product.

Did you use the Dual link DVI cable included in the box? do you have a dual link compatible GPU?

If the monitor shows a test pattern its most likely not receiving a Dual-Link signal.

Make sure your output is Dual-Link and also your cable.

I think that your dual link dvi cable isn't giving a strong enough signal to the monitor, do you have another gpu and cable to test it with? I'd definitely do that before RMAing it.

Now this might sound silly to ask, but you do have your rig setup to recognize PCI-E slots frist , right?

well actually it's a brand new rig and I can't see the bios to try to install windows. The qnix is the only dvi panel I have in house currently. And since hdmi requires windows drivers, I can't hook it up to my HDTV. Anyways shouldn't the default be to use the discrete graphics card.

Double check and see if you have a second dual link dvi port on your gpu. Try using it there, and really any dual link dvi cable on newegg for like 5 bucks would work :)

I tried both ports on the 780 and both do the same thing. Should I try radiocrap or just wait for a cable to arrive from newegg?

Plug the HDMI into your tv then to the onboard vidio. Take out your 780 and see if it recognizes your TV. I have a really good feeling that the Qunix is just fine and would be a complete waste to RMA just yet. It really sounds like its either the cable or the bios is not reading your GPU first

Not to step on @Meltymoons feet but I would get the cable from monoprice instead. Cheaper and better quality cables http://www.monoprice.com/Category?c_id=102&cp_id=10209

i have already tried taking out the gpu and using the integrated video. Hopefully it's just the cable and not me being unlucky and getting a defective monitor

I would deffently try the cable first before you take the time to RMA the monitor back. IIt honestly does not sound like the monitor is this issue in your case to be honest

No I'm using my TV's adapter so I threw the idea of 'not enough power' out of the window ;)

Well would it actually make a huge difference getting a nippon labs from newegg vs monoprice. I only ask because I live in New York and it says 5 day delivery for monoprice and the shipping costs more than the cable, so it would wind up being more from monoprice :P

Not sure if you should trust Monoprice. Seems cheap, but also cheap in quality. I have one of their writing tablets, and it feels cheap in quality. Also packaging looked crap.
