Computer keeps crashing, only a fresh install solves it

Antarcti

As I said in the title, my computer keeps crashing, recently almost everytime I'm playing halo 2, my pc blue-screens. It also crashes a bit after logging into windows. I have had this problem before, and the only solution i found to it was an OS reinstall. What could be causing this issue and is there another way i can fix this?

What drive do you have your OS on? Perhaps one of your HDDs is failing which keeps causing the corruption/crashing?

The OS is currently on the 860 EVO, I could try disconnecting all the others and check if it crashes that way.

If that was the case, why would it not crash after a fresh windows install tho?

Before you do that, read this reddit thread on how to preform a HDD health test, perhaps you can locate it better this way.
