Really sorry to hear than man 馃槙

Best thing I've found is to check out craigslist and facebook marketplace and be as patient as you can.聽

Otherwise if you have a micro center around, they seem to be holding on to AMD cards pretty well.聽

Maybe that insurance money can help you out :/.聽

Have you tried DDU? Also the 1660 is only 2,5 years old, so chances are that you are still in warranty if you know it's a hardware fault.

Did you plug it into the correct PCIE slot? Usually the top one is good, others can cause it to perform awful. Also check if it's thermal throttling and look at the power usage. You can do this with MSI afterburner

yup i pretty much followed that video that Linus made the step by step build i spent 5 hours making sure i did every single step correctly .I've always had good cooling with my pc my 1660 stayed at a good 60聽degrees Celsius under a load聽

it shouldn't be dead if nothing has happened to it.

That it still runs maybe normal, just not getting the performance needed to run something, might suggest something else or certain part on the GPU?

So I don't think its dead?

Repaste it, might be overheating.

The symptoms you describe don鈥檛 necessarily describe a dead card. 聽It might yet live.聽

Not a pro, not even very good. 聽I鈥檓 just old and have time currently. 聽Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

I recall this generation of cards had a lot of issues with dying. But it sounds like it's not necessarily dead. I would repaste the CPU, remove the original drivers with DDU and reinstall, if that doesn't work, you can try the oven method to try connecting any disconnected solder joints.

If your graphics card was dead your screen would be black. Try doing some trouble shooting steps like re installing drivers and checking temps and clock speeds.聽

I hope your situation gets better 馃檪
