Zenbook - is it worth it

Solstice

Hey guys

I'm thinking about buying a zenbook, but is it really worth the money??

how is the battery life, and does it get slow over time?

Looking forward to your replies :)

Well that really sucks that you have to pay a ton more money. I've always had faith in Asus' Zenbook ultrabook lineup. The one you are considering has great specs, I see no problem with you not enjoying it. Before you but it though, have you considered anything else or are you firm with Zenbook.

Good Luck!

I have the UX31E and the battery life is impressive considering that it's packing a quad core i5. I'd upgrade it to Win 8 as soon as you get it because the experience is simply amazing.

Well i will not buy a mac. it's more expensive and i don't like the OS.

Battery life is also one of the reasons i want a new laptop.

Yes Asus makes great quality products and the zen book is definitely one of then. I recommended one to my cousin I think about a year or 2 ago and it still works great.

Personally the only problem I have with it is the expense. A large chunk of the money is most definitely going to its slim form factor and metal materials for the body.

If you don't mind getting something a little heavier and thicker something like an Asus u36 is a nice option while being more affordable. My friend got a u36 awhile back and he loves it. Only problem is I'm not sure if they still make it.

Goodluck with your purchase!

My brother is using a Zenbook UX31E. the speakers [eventhough they are B&O] and the keyboard are horrible. The keyboard is not picking up all keystrokes if you type too fast. And the speakers make the keyboard vibrate and have this really annoying sound.

And ASUS probably has the world's worst support. Ever.

I'd not go with that one ^^

Battery life is also one of the reasons i want a new laptop.

Please wait for a Haswell Ultrabook to be available in your region!!! Improved battery life and vastly improved iGPU performance is something you wouldn't want to miss.

Definitely wait for Haswell when it comes to buying a laptop right now. The Sony Vaio Pro 13 is a nice option I've been considering. Not sure about its availability in Denmark but scope it out mate.
